One of our regular visitors to the gallery mentioned Susan’s work to us, lucky me! So off I went to her studio down near Lewes in Sussex. I was drawn by her original take and way of seeing things, and the starkness of her balanced canvases. She has found her own voice and depicts still lives in a unique way.
Born on the island of Portland, Dorset, Susan Ashworth grew up in a landscape of stone quarries, cliffs and wide views across field and scrub to open sea. She studied Fine Art in Falmouth, Cornwall.
